Greetings from mama

Happy 16 months old, dear Heidi!

Mama and baba arrived in Columbia Thursday afternoon, after 16 hours’ delay (both flights got delayed and we had to stay in Chicago for a night). Your baba went to school earlier this morning. Mama got up when it was still dark. Now, mama is sitting in the couch and looking at your pictures over and over.

Today is the 10th day since the last time we saw you in Nanjing. Sorry baby, mama didn’t have the courage to say ‘bye’ when we left for the train station. At present, sitting in our living room in Columbia, mama see your stuff around: your toys, your pacifier, your clothes… mama feels part of my heart is missing. Mama doesn’t want to put your stuff into closet, but we need to move on. We hope you continue to be healthy and happy baby. We hope someday, when you are a little older, you will understand our decision.

Now, it’s time for you to go to bed and have a good rest, and it’s time for mama to unpack our luggage. Have sweet dreams. We love you!

To our friends:
We will still update Heidi's blog, probably not as frequent as it used to be. Thanks for all your support and love!

Nanjing Univ.

My baba got his bachelor and master's degree at Nanjing University. He gave mama and I a campus tour yesterday. Mama loves the beautiful campus and said she would like to come here to study if she is 10 years younger :)

More play pics

I am a brave little girl!
I still have interest in stone buddies. I have many ways to play with them. This little girl is my favorite.

One of my daily routine is checking mail (not email).

play time

This season in Nanjing, it's either too hot or too rainy. Luckily, it cools down recently without rain. So, it means I have more time playing downstairs. When I first got to Nanjing a month ago, I was afraid of touching any of these play equipment. Now, I became a brave little girl and I managed to play with most of them.

Family time

After I moved to nanjing, I got the chance to meet more family members and spend happy hours together with them!
With grandmother. Look at my expressions. Remember, this one shows I am very joyful.
with mama, baba and two uncles. It was the first time I met them.
Playing with cousin Linlin. Linlin is 7 years old and will be a second-grader in September. He likes me a lot and I am always excited when he visits me.
With mama. It looks like I am more interested in her necklace.

Heidi in Shanghai

We spend the last weekend in Shanghai, where most of my baba's relatives live. The first time, I met my great grandma (it's mama's first time to meet her, too). She likes us! During the big family dinner, I was trying to make friend with my cousin Jianhua by feeding him my leftover cucumber. He definitely looked confused.

This is still us, watching TV together. I was holding the remote control so he wasn't very happy.
This is me trying to ride in his tricycle.
