Water table

It's been hot for weeks. We just got this water table. They girls played with it for a long time even before we took it outside. Iris likes to take all the parts out and put them into her room. Heidi, already 5 years old, still likes baby/toddler/preschooler toys more than big kid toys. We took the water table to the deck after dinner. The girls had great time playing with it. Iris got all wet in a few minutes. She kept pouring water to her onesie and pants and had fun doing it.

First time roller skating

I can't remember how I was like when I was 5. But I like 5 years olds. They know so much, and they think they know more. They try a lot of new things and totally enjoy the experiences. They make friends; they hug for 2 minutes; they help each other. They are so sweet.

This is Heidi's first roller skating. It reminded me of my childhood roller skating experience. I had a pair of skate shoes that my dad brought from Germany. I wore my shoes and practiced at home. I didn't go to the rink until highschool. And I never roller skated beyond college. It's been more than 10 years since the last time I was in a rink. And now, my little girl started to roller skate at 5.

She fell more than 100 times in 2 hours, and only cried one time for 30 seconds. She liked it nonetheless and wants her next birthday party there. I love my girl!

More swimming lessons

Heidi just finished her two-week swimming lessons at USC. She was sick for two days, but attended most of the class. She truely enjoyed it. I can see her progress. But as usual, she enjoyed more the playing part than the learning part, so she will have to repeat this level next year. We are done with swimming lessons this year but definitely will come back next summer.

More about Independence Day weekend

Here's two more pictures from the weekend. Not about water, but very cute.
Heidi praying for America. I like the new way she prays.

Some of the cats in the house. Photo was designed by Heidi and taken by mommy.

Our little pool on the deck

Now that we know the girls like to play with water. We finally set up our little pool on our deck. Their daddy spent 2 hours setting it up. They love it.

I have to be in there with Iris. This pool is for 3-6 years old. And it's so easy for Iris to fall and drink some water. We had bbq for dinner after playing in the pool. Life is good:)

Pool party

We had a pool party with some of our friends' family Saturday afternoon and evening. The girls had a lot of fun playing in water with their little and big friends.

Iris was in her lilypad for about an hour. She enjoyed every minute of it.

Even the never-go-into-the-water daddy stepped into the pool to beat the heat.

Heidi was excited the whole time. Most of the kids in the party will go to the swimming lessons next week. How exciting!

Lake Murray park

I like the beach. I always want to take the family to the beach in summer. We didn't go last summer because Iris was just born. And this year, it looks like we probably won't be going either. The girls just like to play with water and sand. They don't really mind if it's not a real beach. So, Lake Murray park is a good choice since we are not going to a real beach sooner.

Iris is the Hawaiian girl. This is her first time to wear a swimming suit. So cute!

Office Lady

Heidi always wants to go to my 'school.' She means my office. She thinks everybody goes to school, her daddy, her, me. She is jealous that Iris doesn't need to go to school, but she knows Iris will start school soon, too.

She always has so much fun in my office. There's a tons of big and small toys around. There's even a doll house, a jewelry box full of jewelry and a tent. Besides, everybody welcomes her and play with her... But the problem is, she can never play by herself. When she is bothering me for a while, I get mad; when she is not bothering me for a while, I know she is bothering someone else somewhere and have to go find her.

There are times I have to bring her to office for a visit, like after her dentist appointment. She has many dentist appointments recently...

She believes this table is Hers. She really belives so. She yelled "Looke, I even have a phone!" She asks me when she can go with me and use her table all the time. Well, wait for your next dentist appointment, girl.

Heidi's Swimming Lessons

Heidi finished a two-week swimming session with her friends at school. This time she enjoyed it, though she still didn't want her eyes and nose all wet. But she is not resistant any more! She will start another two-week session at USC next week and she is looking forward to it. Have fun girl!
