Halloween 2011

It is our family tradition that we go to the trunk or Treat at First Baptist Church in W.Columbia every year. It doesn't matter if we live five minutes from there or 30 minutes from there. They see us and they say "Welcome back!"

Heidi wants to be a witch this year. after 4 years princess and barbie, she finally decided she wanted something else. lol. Iris is a bunny. She has a cute bunny head hat, but it's kinda hard to see from the pictures.

The witch and her bunny friend went from car to car seeking for candy and treats.

The witch got to dig out some treats from the sand box.

The bunny is 17 months old, but she knows candy and chocolate in different shapes. She also likes to show off.

The witch had a hayride without hay with other witches and characters.

The bunny wandering around holding her bucket.

The witch is thinking about how she can use her wand to make more candy.

We were ready to go home when it started to get dark. On our way home, we happened to see another carnival just a few blocks from this one. Of course we stopped by. The witch played games and won candies and tickets. Then whe used the tickets to exchange for a lot of treats.

When bird feeding becomes crazy

We like to feed the lorikeets. We are their old friends. They were very excited to meet the girls' grandparents.

At first, everything was just fine.
Then things went a little crazy when three or four of them stayed on grandma's hand at the same time.

Even more crazy when more showed up.

Two second later, this is what we saw.

Finally we got some help from the zoo staff and grandma's head was bird free.

Iris is such a rider. This is definitely her favorite thing to do in the zoo.

State fair

OK finally we went to the state fair the day before the last day. I feel embarressed to say this is the first time Heidi and me to be there. If you know a little about my girl, you will know she is always shy and easily scared. No other kids I know can compete with her on this.

Well, I was a little shocked that she did really well today at the fair. She played 2/3 of the kids rides, and enjoyed almost everything. I have to admit I screamed more than she did on one of the kids ride. Like always, she doesn't laugh much on the rides, but then when you ask her if she likes it, she nods her head a little bit. That means she enjoys it.

DFES fall festival 2011

The fall festival at Heidi's school was so much fun! We had hot dog for dinner. There were haunted house, crafts, games, pumpkin carving competition, costume show, hayride, book fair, local vendor booths, etc. To be honest, it was beyond my expectation. We will definitely participate each year.

I am so glad to have a girl who allows hat on her head! BTW she is a bunny.

Charleston trip

The weather was beautiful. We was trying to decide whether to go see the leaves or to Charleston. Charleston won! I love the fall leaves. Ok maybe next year. Our first step was the market place. It is a fun place and we enjoyed seeing the interesting stuff there. Then we had lunch as Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. We had shrimps and fish. The food was great! I already want to go back:)

We then had a quick stop at Rainbow Row.

Iris had a nap in the car. Heidi, grandparents, and me had a walk.

We love the swing. I definitely wanted spend a whole after there.

We then went to Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum. Here's Heidi and grandma inside the USS Yorktown CV-10

We also visited the Clamagore submarine. Heidi wanted to spend more time in the carrier and submarine. She just had so much fun climbing and exploring.

Next stop: Folly Beach. Both girls were crazying playing and didn't want to leave. Charleston is so much fun. There's way more things that we can't go see in a single day. Hope we can go back soon.

C4 outdoor worship

This girl had her first canoe ride today. She was scared before and after it. She worried that they would fall into the warter and be eaten by the crocdiles. But she seemed to enjoy the ride overall. Especially she liked to ride with her friend A.

Two excited girls.

The little one wanted to jump into the water and follow her big sis. But she got stuck with me while her daddy and sister were riding the canoe. We played in the sand and she didn't like her dirty feet, so we had to leave there.

The good thing is, she has fun everywhere with pretty much everyting.

Zoo time again!

I love the fall weather. It's sunny but not hot. It's perfect for playing outside. We took the girls to the zoo Saturday morning. I still miss the time when we lived just within a mile from the garden entrance. These days, we don't really go to the garden side any more.

This is Iris' first time seeing so many lorieets. She was more excited than scared, which is really good. She wanted to touch them. Of course they flew away before she reached them.

Also the first time she rode the carousel. She loved it. Then she requested to ride again. Then again. She rode is 3 times and wanted to go back for more.

Big sis was more interesed in her pony friends. I haven't had pony ride for like more than 15 years and really miss it when I see her riding. Well I am way too heavy and tall for these little ponies.

Family train ride. I don't think Iris knows what a train is. Heidi enjoyed it.

Heidi's first pony ride

Finally it cooled down. We just renewed and upgraded our membership to the zoo. Daddy took Heidi last Saturday while mommy and Iris were not feeling well at home. They tried all the rides. And the girl rode on the pony for the very first time. She totally enjoyed it and can't wait to go next time.

Heidi lost another two of her bottom teeth not long ago. She lost four teeth already.

Look how short her pants are? She has grown a lot over the summer.
