Iris meets iris

Well, we really didn't know anything about iris flower unitl when our Iris was, like 6 months old. All we knew was iris is a name of a flower. When spring came this year, I was interested in flowers, for like a week. I did a brief research about iris, but figured it's not easy to grow them. Well, I must admit that I never grew any flowers at all. Then thanks to my little research, we happened to recognize iris at Riverbank garden early May.

Yesterday, I accidentally found out Swan Lake Iris Garden holds iris festival every year on Memorial Day weekend. Too bad by the time I found it, this year's festival just ended several hours ago. But it's good to know that the peak of iris season is mid-May till early June. So Monday morning, we suddently decided to go to see some iris and some swans.

We were a little late to catch this year's peak season. But there were still lots of blooming iris. We came here twice in the past and had no idea what iris is. I didn't even know that's a name of a flower until we decided to name our Iris about a year ago.

I don't know the name of the yellow flower. We got some in our yard and always thought they were weeds until one day we saw the yellow flowers... So glad we didn't cut them all.

My baby likes to see the swans. This black swan couple is so elegant.

The first time she was holding a feather

Heidi found a white feather. Literally she asked 5 white swans if the feather belonged to them. Of course they all said No, and she got to keep the feather.
